Welcome to this weeks guide. As always lots to do this week. There are a small number of afters tickets still available for the Science Ball on Thursday available in the SocBox. An opportunity to write graffiti on the ‘Berlin Wall’ on Monday with the German Society in the Arts millennium building before pulling it down to celebtate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the wall. We are all gearing up for Music Week which starts next week. There is a full programme at the end of the multimedia version of this guide which you can see here.

CDB are having hustings for the upcoming elections at the Ogra FF National Youth Conference taking place from Nov. 13th-15th in Bundoran, Co. Donegal. Each cadidate will have the opportunity to speak & highlight the reasons why they should be elected. This will be followed by a lively Q&A session. It will be chaired by Cllr Peter Keane who is a member of Galway City Council who will also speak for a few minutes on his experiences in Galway City Council since being elected in June. It will be a very interesting and lively night. A reception will follow.Also still spaces available on the trip to the Youth Conference. Everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there

No previous knowledge necessary! Meet experts in the field for an informative and interactive discussion with open-minded people. Every week we have some of the best jugglers around giving workshops in their chosen area of expertise, so come along if you want to learn how to swing Poi, twirl Staffs, juggle Clubs and Balls, spin Diablos, roll Contact Balls, flip Hats and do .... well cool stuff with Devil Sticks! I think you get the idea! People of ALL skill levels welcome from complete beginner to advanced. If you don't want to participate in the workshop come along anyway to use our equipment and as always feel free to ask anyone you want to teach you anything you want!!
We will host an interesting talk by our Guest Lecturers, Archaeologist and PhD students from Spain, working on a problem of Iron Age in the north-west of Spain. They will talk about the problems they have discovered and solutions they found, providing not only specific information from the archaeological field, but also giving our members a taste of how it is to be a young scholar in a major field.

NUI Galway's very own Melanie Hennessy will be talking with us over a cup of tea and biscuits about her experiences, challenges and memories in the setting up of an orphanage in Nepal. If you would like to do something similar or just listen to this girl's extraordinary story then come along to what will be a really great night!
A workshop on social policy debates, discussing ideas such as State-individual interaction, rights, social contract etc. The format of these workshops will be opening with a debate with 3-minute speeches (or perhaps even just 15-minutes prep) on a SP motion, then discussion on what teams are missing in terms of points & analysis, some theoretical stuff, then a full-length debate on a related SP motion.
The Christmas appeal will be the Society's biggest event this semester; we're all going to have to help out if it is to be a success. Anyone who wants to be involved is invited to our planning evening on Tuesday . All proceeds to go to worthy local charities. Bring your good ideas and energy. Absolutely everyone welcome.

Paul Reynolds, Chief RTE Crime Correspondent will be addressing Law Soc, NUIGalway. He will be speaking on his work in RTE, Gangland Crime in Ireland and his view of Criminal Law. It promises to be an interesting and linformative talk from someone who has been at the forefront of crime reporting in Ireland over the last decade.
We will be screening a few episodes of the anime Bleach.
