Hi Everyone and welcome back to semester 2. I hope you all had a great Christmas and lots of rest and good cheer and are now ready to take up a new interest and to meet new people, and what better way than joining a society. Tomorrow is Societies day 2 from 11am - 5pm in They Bailey Allen Hall, Aras na Mac Leinn. We have 108 societies and most of them will be there tomorrow ready to tell you all about themselves. The Societies have been busy organising welcome back events, meetings, auditions and much more for this week so do check out the full line up below. Plus keep an eye on the calendar on www.socs.nuigalway.ie for up to the minute news on events. Ball season is on the way so watch out for info on upcoming ticket sales, we are introducing a new ticket selling system so make sure to bring your student ID and you can buy tickets for your guests.

Last semester we brought you NUIG's first major student discount card which was so good it inspired other societies to replicate it - We plan to add a further estimated 15 Galway food and clothing outlets to the discount card thus keeping it as not only NUIG's first and cheapest student discount card but also the one with the largest number of discounts. Auditions for Original One Act Play series will take place in Aras na Mac Leinn On Wednesday 11th.
No previous Experiience is required and Scripts will be supplied on the day.

Team meeting for the 12 volunteers travelling to Zambia this summer to work with the international charity Habitat for Humanity.
These are our Thursday sessions that provide a space to practice and learn new skills. Also just a cool place to hang out. Equipment provided. Keep an eye on you emails for details.
