The German Society aims to organise events to promote the German language and the cultures of German-speaking countries, be it Austria, Switzerland or Germany. Its main aim is to bring all members of the German Society together and to make everyone's experience of german a memorable one so get involved!

Our weekly Stammtisch allows students to practice their German in a relaxed and informal environment outside of the classroom. We can learn a lot from other students, including those on Erasmus, in this way.

The society aims to organise events to coincide with popular German festivals, such as Oktoberfest and Karneval. We've also got the famous and hugely popular German Society Boat-Trip with a cruise on the Corrib Princess this October 12th check out the socs box for tickets (€10) and also a multi-cultural party planned with the other language societies for later in October that gaurantees to be a hit. We are always open to hearing your ideas and suggestions for new events - just contact us.

In the coming months we'll be organising a trip abroad to a german city and also a weekend trip to the Burren and other cool spots so keep posted!
