MSF uses doctors, nurses, engineers, logisticians, technicians and project managers from a wide spectrum of career backgrounds to do their vital work, bringing medical aid to those in most urgent need. In the course of this work they often enter humanitarian crises other organisations consider too dangerous. This week NUIG Friends of MSF will welcome NUIG graduate Dr. John Morris and Head of MSF Ireland Jane-Ann McKenna to the Clinical Science Institute attached to University Hospital (see map), to give their first-hand accounts of Working in a Warzone. Both speakers have worked on several MSF missions over the past ten years. Food and refreshments will be served at the event and the Tweet Treats cookbook in aid of MSF will be on sale afterwards for €8. This event is free to attend. |
